Abstract

1,165,675. Coated containers. MINNESOTA MINING & MFG. CO. 28 June, 1966 [28 June, 1965], No. 29048/66. Heading B2K. [Also in Divisions B8 and C3] A lip of a container is coated with a fluorocarbon compound (see Division C3) having an oleophobic fluorocarbon portion and having a functional portion which will adhere to the surfaces of the lip. The lip or orifice is preferably formed with sloping surfaces defining an apex which is closer to the exterior surface than to the interior surface. The exterior surface slopes towards the apex centreline at a greater angle than does the interior surface. The lip surfaces may be made of siliceous material. The functionality of the fluorocarbon compound may be a silicon containing group, this group being chemically bonded to the siliceous material.
