Abstract

1,165,496. Mortar applying device. K. McGEE. 11 April, 1968, No. 17564/68. Heading E1S. A device to aid bricklayers comprises a metal or plastics frame 4 with depending locating lugs 6 and 7 and a cross-bar 9, the depth of the frame being equal to the desired mortar depth, and the length being a multiple, as shown two, of a brick length. The lugs on one or each side may be cranked, as lugs 6, to aid pointing, and the crossbar 6 is preferably elliptical in cross-section with the major axis vertical, although it may be of circular crosssection, or alternatively be replaced by a thin strip.
