Abstract

1,164,471. Fungicides containing oxetanes. UNION CARBIDE CORP. 10 Sept., 1966, No. 40528/66. Heading A5E. [Also in Divisions C2 and C5] A pesticidal composition contains as active ingredient an oxetane of the formula I:- wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are hydrogen atoms or hydrocarbyl, halohydrocarbyl, aminohydrocarbyl, alkoxyhydrocarbyl, aminoalkoxyhydrocarbyl or heterocyclyl groups; and R 5 and R 6 are hydrocarbyl halohydrocarbyl, aminohydrocarbyl, alkoxyhydrocarbyl, aminoalkoxyhydrocarbyl, cyanohydrocarbyl, heterocyclyl hydrocarbyl, carbamyl, N-alkyl carbamyl, N-cycloalkylcarbamyl, N-heterocyclylcarbamyl or heterocyclyl groups; provided that (1) one pair of R 1 and R 2 , R 3 Á and R 4 and R 5 and R 6 together with the carbon atom to which it is attached can be a radical:- wherein R, is hydrogen, halogen or a hydrocarbyl radical or two R 7 s the same carbon atom together form an alkylidene group, (2) R 5 and R 6 together with the carbon atom to which they are attached may represent the group:- wherein B is a sulphonyl, C 1-2 alkylene or C 2-10 alkyl-substituted lower alkylene group, (3) R 2 and R 3 together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached can represent the group V and (4) at least one of R 1-6 is other than hydrogen, hydrocarbyl or haloaryl. The composition may also contain a solid or liquid carrier.
