Abstract

1,164,282. Frequency generating systems; radio receivers. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. 4 Oct., 1966 [13 Oct., 1965], No. 43529/65. Headings H3F and H3Q. In a variable frequency generating system which includes a continuously variable interpolating oscillator 3, a frequency is displayed in two separately derived parts, the least significant part only of which is displayed digitally by an electronic counter 5 which constitutes part of frequency indicating means, a frequency derived from the interpolating oscillator being applied to the counter 5. As shown the generator is connected to the mixer 1 of a radio receiver but could be applied to a transmitter. The more significant, e.g. whole number part of the input RF signal is indicated by a switch dial associated with the harmonic selector 4 or can be digitally displayed next to that of the electronic counter 5 indicating the less significant, e.g. decimal, part of the input frequency.
