Abstract
1,163,768. Exposure control for cameras. KORARU K.K. Oct. 3, 1966 [Nov. 6, 1965; May 27, 1966; July 12, 1966; July 13, 1966; July 14, 1966; July 19, 1966], No. 44012/66. Heading G2A. An automatic exposure control for photographic and cinematographic cameras includes a Wheatstone bridge network included in a transistorized control circuit, one branch of the bridge circuit including a photo-resistor subjected to scene light through the objective lens, such that unbalance of the bridge causes an electromagnetic device, to actuate a diaphragm control to restore the balance. As shown, a photo-resistor 10, Fig. 1, receives light through lens 2, diaphragm 7 and lens 8. The photo-resistor 10 is included in one branch of a bridge circuit Fig. 4 (not shown), such that on a change of incident light on the photo-resistor the bridge is unbalanced between points (A and B). The bridge also includes a variable resistor (25) which is set according to the emulsion speed of the film 12, Fig. 1, and a resistor (27, Fig. 4, not shown) for setting shutter speed. Upon unbalance of the bridge circuit current flows through an energizing coil (L1) in the direction of the dotted line, thus causing rotation of coil 16, Fig. 3, which adjusts diaphragm 7. The coil 16 also carries a damping coil Lz which upon rotation generates a voltage of opposite polarity to that between points (A and B) Fig. 4 (not shown) of the bridge circuit. The damping coil L2 is stated to provide a constant current flow through the energizing coil L 1 to provide a constant speed movement and instantaneous stopping thereof when the bridge becomes balanced.
