Abstract

[Also in Division B2] In Fig. 1 an apparatus for causing artificial snow fall is combined with a Christmas tree and comprises a container 34, operable means 22 embodying a blower 28, a receiving conduit 32 for snow particles extending from the blower to a lower part of the wall 33 of the container 34 so that it picks up the snow particles received by the receptacle, and a delivery conduit 38 extending upwardly alongside the trunk of the tree for discharging snow particles. Above the trunk of the tree is a deflector means 44 comprising a deflector 46 provided with veins 48. Connection between the delivery conduit 38 and the deflector means 44 is effected by a support 56 attached at one end to a collar 42 slidably mounted on the delivery conduit. The support is provided with an upper pointed end that is received in a pivot member 50 bf the deflector. Air from outlet portion 43 of the delivery conduit strikes the inner surface of the deflector causing it to rotate. An ornament 64 is attached to the deflector by adhesive, and an electric light bulb is positioned directly opposite the outlet 43 from the delivery conduit. In operation snow particles are drawn from the receptacle 34 into conduit 32 and into the blower 28 and thence into delivery conduit 38 from which they are discharged against the bulb and into the interior of the deflector. The particles then fall from the deflector through the branches of the tree into the collecting receptacle. The snow flakes may be plastics pellets.
