Abstract

1,162,292. Ventilators. W. H. BARKER, and D. R. BARKER. 22 Feb., 1967, No. 8462/67. Heading F4V. Rhomboidal deformable louvres for an air damper as described in Specification 1,040,696 are constructed from four strips of metal (e.g. 0À02 inch aluminium) bonded by an adhesive to a plastics film (e.g. polyester, P.V.C., polyvinyl fluoride) of about 0À002 inch thickness. Ears 2, 4 are formed to engage an actuating bar and a stationary frame member respectivelywhile ears 9 comprise a section of metal and plastics bent back and compressed on itself to provide reinforcement of " mid-hinge " lines 8a. One or more of the strips may be provided with interior projections or dimples which prevent the tube from collapsing to a linear section and which also provide strengthening.
