Abstract
1,159,730. Snap-action switches. SANTON Ltd. 28 April, 1967 [28 April, 1966], No. 18689/66. Heading H1N. A rotary switch includes an indexing spring 3 of which the ends 4 abut against a plurality of fixed stops or projections 9 formed on the underside of the end cover 7 or on a separate detachable ring member 6 as shown in the drawing and as described and claimed in Specification 1,159,729, to provide the required number of switch positions per revolution of the switch handle 11, and the spring 3 has secured thereto a plate member 5 mounted on the switch spindle 10 and presenting an inclined surface at 12 to the underside of cover 7 such that a minimum amount of wear is caused to the track on member 6 or cover 7 over which the indexing spring assembly moves. Plate member 5 provides lugs engaging projections on the cover for the torsion springs such that indexing spring 3 is held by a projection 9 between, its ends 4 until a torsion spring is stressed sufficiently to cause quick movement of the spring 3 between its positions defined by the projection 9, as in Specification 1,159,729.
