Abstract
1,158,343. Cases for toothed gearing. WESTDEUTSCHE GETRIEBEWERKE G.m.b.H. 26 July, 1966 [5 Aug., 1965], No. 33480/66. Heading F2Q. In a gear case, for use with a series of reduction gears giving a range of reduction ratios according to the gear-wheels fitted, comprising an upper casing half 2 having rounded external surfaces bolted to a lower casing half 1 having cast-on base rails 4, and adapted to receive horizontal input and output shafts, the halves are so formed that the lower half 1 may be bolted to a second similar lower half, both on their sides (Fig. 2), to form a casing suitable for gearing with a vertical input or output shaft, and the upper half 2 may be bolted to a second similar upper half to form a casing (Fig. 3, not shown) for an attachable gear or one supported on its input and/or output shaft.
