Abstract

1,156,190. Brushes. H. R. VAN DER MOLEN. 14 Dec., 1966, No. 56002/66. Heading A4K. A brush back is injection moulded on to the ends of slivers 6, protruding through holes 5 in plate 4, while the slivers are held in clamping grid 9, 10. After moulding, the clamp member 9 is withdrawn, to release the slivers and the mould parts 1, 2 raised to draw a further portion of the slivers through the holes 5. After operating clipper 12, to sever the filaments at the desired distance from the moulded back, the mould parts 1, 2 are separated to release the finished brush. In another form (Fig. 2, not shown), the stationary clamp member 7 is replaced by a moving member.
