Abstract

1,155,715. Circuit assemblies. SIEMENS A.G. 16 Sept., 1966 [17 Sept., 1965], No 41388/66. Heading H1R. [Also in Division H3] In a band-pass filter of the kind comprising a wideband amplifier having negative feedback via an R-C band-stop filter network with at least one attenuation peak, the amplifier is formed in a semi-conductor body by solid-state techniques, and the R-C filter is formed on the semi-conductor body by thin film techniques. The amplifier preferably contains at least three transistor stages, and is formed by planar diffusion into a silicon body, the R-C filter, which may take either of the forms shown in Figs. 2, 3 being subsequently deposited on to an insulating layer on the silicon body. In the R-C filter, resistance R and capacitance C are formed as distributed parameters; R should be much larger, e.g. by a factor of 30, than the output load resistance of the amplifier.
