[Also in Division C5] Novel 2,2-bis (difluoromethyl) oxetane derivatives of the formula wherein one of R and R<SP>1</SP> is a fluorine atom and the other is a fluorine atom or a C 1 -C 10 perfluoroalkyl radical, are obtained by hydrogenating the corresponding 2,2-bis (chlorodifluoromethyl) oxetanes with lithium aluminium hydride. The compounds are useful as heat-transfer media or dielectric fluids.
