Abstract

1,152,084. Racing track. LOUIS MARX & CO. Ltd. 27 July, 1966 [24 Oct., 1965], No. 33733/66. Heading A6S. In a track component 11 for a toy car racing layout, the roadway 13 terminates perpendicularly at the mid-points of two sides of the component, thus enabling a plurality of such components to be interconnected to provide a racing circuit e.g. as in Fig. 1. Preferably the roadway 13 comprises two trackways (as shown) each having a central guide slot 16 and two spaced slots 17 which accommodate hollow spiral conductors 18 (Fig. 13). Each car 41 has pick-up shoes 43. Current is supplied to the conductors 18 from transformer 14 (Fig. 1), the speed of each car being controlled by the appropriate rheostat 15. Electrical and mechanical interconnection of adjacent components may be achieved by means of cylindrical plugs 24 (Fig. 14) each of which has a central shoulder 25 and axially projecting portions 26 which fit into the spiral conductors 18 of the adjacent track components. In addition, spring clips may be used to secure components together.
