Abstract

1,151,452. Capacitors. LONDON ELECTRICAL MFG. CO. Ltd. 7 Feb., 1968 [24 Feb., 1967], No. 8850/67. Heading H1M. In the manufacture of a capacitor an insulating plate 11 is provided with metal edge strips 12 to act as electrical connections, and the separately produced, relatively fragile mica or ceramic capacitor is attached to the edge strips. Connecting wires 14 may be welded to the edge strips. Alternatively the wires and edge strips may be integral (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown). The capacitor may be soldered to the edge strips and for this purpose preferably has metallized marginal areas. Plate 11, which may be of mica, may support two capacitors, one on each side. The structure may be encapsulated in synthetic plastics by dipping or moulding.
