Abstract

1,149,751. Circuit assemblies. F. C. ROBINSON & PARTNERS Ltd. 31 Aug., 1966 [11 June, 1965], No. 24851/65. Heading H1R. A moulded electrically insulating base-plate 11 is provided with lugs 19, 20 which are higher than the side walls 17, 18 of the plate and provided with vertical slots 22, 23 such that the plate 11 can be pushed downwardly on to a supporting structure formed by two horizontally spaced parallel supporting rods 24, 25. Raised portions 26, 27 in the slots are provided to snap over the rods 24, 25 when they are inserted. The base-plate 11 is also provided with slotted 16 ridges 13, 14, 15 and in the NAND gate arrangement shown five resistors 29 are connected with their leads 28, 31 passing through the slots 16 to a common wire 44 connected to the base of a transistor in housing 40 by lead 41. Base and collector resistors 34, 35 are similarly connected in the lower compartment of the base-plate 11 as shown. After insertion of the leads in the slots the latter are closed by spot welding the plastics material over them. A plurality of the units may be mounted one over the other on the rods 24, 25, Fig. 3 (not shown). A hermetically sealed unit may be obtained by including a front cover. The ridges 13, 14, 15 may be formed with holes corresponding to the slots through which the lead wires may be passed.
