Abstract

1,149,294. Stranding machines. KABEL UND METALLWERKE GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE A.G. 3 March, 1967 [3 March, 1966], No. 10179/67. Heading D1T. The invention relates to storage stranding machines of the type in which after the material has been stranded it passes back and forth between spaced sets of wheels 15 on shafts rotating about the stranding axes. According to the invention such rotation is produced by one or more reversible electric motors 16 co-axial with said stranding axis. As illustrated the spaced sets of wheels 15 are carried in forks having stub axles 12 and there is a motor 16 for each stub axle. In Fig. 1 (not shown) the spaced sets of wheels 15 are carried by forks having a common axis and therefore only one motor is required.
