Abstract
1,148,877. Strain gauge. FAIREY SURVEYS Ltd. June 17, 1966 [April 21, 1965], No.16828/65. Heading G1N, A plurality of strain gauges (12, Figs. 1, 2, not shown) is attached to one face of an insulating flexible base (10) of sheet material which carries printed wiring on its opposite face and connections from the gauges to the wiring are made through the base. One or more bases, each carrying a plurality of strain gauges, may be attached by adhesive to an element (15, Fig. 3, not shown) in which tensional or torsional strains are to be measured, the strain gauges being arranged between the element and the base. The insulating base (10) may be resin impregnated glass cloth, and the assembly may be cured to complete the bond between the base and the element.
