A vehicle body has a framework of extruded aluminium members such as the corner post 11 having outwardly directed channels 12 provided with ribs 13 to locate connecting pieces 40 to which the intercostal-H section members 33 are secured, part of the web and ribs 39 of such members being cut away to accommodate the piece 40. The corners of the body are formed by corner pieces having three outwardly directed plug parts which fit into the hollow parts of the members such as 11.
