Rectal appliances.-Plugs for the treatment of hµmorrhoids &c. are formed with two bulbous portions a, c connected by a narrow neck b and with a longitudinal bore e. The part c may be relatively wide, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, or, in a modification, may be of the same shape as the part a. The plugs may be made of celluloid, vulcanite, or casein, or of a metal such as zinc.
