Abstract

1,143,759. Flavour. KYOWA HAKKO KOGYO K.K. 5 Dec., 1966 [4 Dec., 1965], No. 54406/66. Heading A2B. 3-methylthio-propylamine (3MTPA) is employed as a flavouring agent for foodstuffs. The 3MTPA may be present as an acid salt, such as the hydrochloride, sulphate, succinate, inosinate, or glutamate. Also present may be sodium glutamate, inosinate, guanylate or succinate, glutamic acid, a protein hydrolysate, or a nucleotide. Flavouring or seasoning compositions comprise 3MTPA together with for example table salt, protein hydrolysate, sodium glutamate, glutamic or inosinic acid, or a flavouring agent of sweet or bitter taste.
