114,271. Hood, J. B. Oct. 1, 1917. Locking nuts. - Nuts are locked by helical springs 6 in recesses 5 at one or both ends which frictionally engage the threads of the bolts. The pitch of the coils of the locking spring is greater or less than the pitch of the screw-thread in the nut by a small fraction of such pitch. The nuts may have vertical apertures to receive pins to release the springs.
