Abstract

1,142,444. Jettisoning device. SOC. ANON. R. ALKAN & CIE 1 May, 1967 [5 May, 1966], No. 19921/67. Heading F3C. A jettisoning device particularly for aircraft comprises a hollow body 1 having a piston 9 slidably mounted therein under the action of a pyrotechnical propelling device 4, there being provided between the piston 9 and the hollow body a detachable lining 7. The body 1 may be secured in a release device 5, the piston 9 being formed at its lower end with a heel 11 for deflecting suspension pawls 12. Movement of the piston 9 is limited by an end socket 10 mounted rigidly in the lining 7. The lining is mounted in the body 1 by a spindle 8 or other suitable means such as a pawl, a bayonet mounting or set screws. In a modification the pyrotechnical propelling device 5 is housed in an extension of the lining (Fig. 2, not shown).
