Heading E2B A clamping device comprises a housing 1 with three compartments for clamping an article between a wedging ball 8 and a back wall 4 each compartment having side walls 7 providing a slot 2 and right angled webs 5 secured to the box and front wall 6. The device has an end flange 11 for securing to a structure and a lid and is made from polystyrene. The wedging ball is made of glass. One gripping device may be used alone or the clamping device may contain any number of gripping devices which may be used in pairs to support a towel or the like.
