1,142,140. Otterboards for trawl nets. F. J. LUKETA. 19 April, 1966, No. 17061/66. Heading A1A. An otterboard for a trawl net is made from a central section 16 carrying a top section 12 and a bottom section 14 both arranged at an angle to the central section so that the anterior side of the board is convex in vertical section and is characterized by vanes V which, in operation, guide water along the length of the board. The board is concave in horizontal section and carries floats and ballast on its rear side together with a stabilizer 28. The vanes can be made integrally with the board or can be made of a resilient material detachably secured to the board. In an embodiment the board is straight in horizontal section.
