Abstract

1,140,213. Rotary hydraulic motors. EXPERIMENTALNY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT METALLOREZHUSCHIKH STANKOV. May 5, 1966, No. 19936/66. Heading F1F. A reversible rotary hydraulic motor of the outwardly-sliding radial vane type comprises an abutment ring or stator 3 lodged in casing 1 between a fixed cheek-plate 5 and an axially-movable pressure-loaded cheek-plate 6, the inner-peripheral surface of the stator having a two-lobed profile, Fig. 2 (not shown), so that it defines with a rotor 4 of circular profile two crescent-shaped working- chambers whose ends are connected to inlet and outlet passages 16, 17 for working liquid by arcuate ports (19, 36),Figs.3 and 4 (not shown), in the plates 5, 6, respectively, and passages 18, 33 in the casing 1 and the plate 6, respectively. When the motor is started, vanes (10) slidably lodged in the rotor are rendered in close proximity with the stator by a pair of two-lobed cams 11, 12 attached to the plates 5, 6, respectively; thereafter, the vanes are held in contact with the stator by centrifugal action and the pressure of liquid in a cavity 35 within the rotor. Said cavity communicates with a pressure-loading chamber 21 for the plate 6 through an axial bore (34), Fig. 5 (not shown), in said plate and is constituted by annular channels in the side faces of the rotor and the radially innermost ends of slots containing the vanes (10). When working liquid is supplied to the motor through the passage 16, the inlet pressure of said liquid is transmitted to the chamber 21 through arcuate ports (20) in the plate 6, which are axially aligned with the ports (19) in the plate 5, passages (26, 27, 28) in the plate 6, an axial bore 24 in the plate 6 containing a valvemember 30 abutting a fixed plug 32, and further passages (22, 23), Fig. 6 (not shown), in the plate 6. One end of the passage (22) also communicates with the cavity 35. When working liquid is supplied to the passage 17 to reverse the direction of rotation of the rotor, the liquid in the passage 33 enters the bore 24 through passages 25 in the plate 6 and moves the valve-member 30 until it abuts another fixed plug 31 to prevent communication between the passages (26, 27, 28) and the passages (22, 23) and allow liquid in the passages 25 to flow through the bore 24 into the passages (22, 23) so as to subject the chamber 21 to inlet pressure. The radially or axially outermost ends of the passages (23, 26, 27, 28) are closed by fixed plugs. Initial loading of the plate 6 is effected by compression springs 29. Leakage liquid lying a space between bearings 8, 9 for a power-output shaft 7 escapes through a passage 38. The profile of each of the cams 11, 12 comprises two pairs of diametrally-opposed part-circular portions, Fig. 7 (not shown), that are concentric with similar portions of the profile of the innerperipheral surface of the stator, said portions of the cam profile being connected to one another by straight lines that do not match the corresponding arcuate portions of the profile of said surface.
