Abstract

Heading E2B [Also in Division F4] A lamp bowl 13 is secured to a supporting structure, e.g. a canopy 10 carrying two fluorescent discharge tubes 16 and forming a housing for the control gear therefor, by a pair of arms, which may consist of a rod 22, at least one of which is engageable by a cam surface, which may be constituted by inclined slots 18 in a member 17, so shaped that when the arms are nearer to the support structure they engage the shoulders 14 of the bowl and when they are moved away from the support structure, they are moved angularly out of register with the shoulders, screw means being provided on the structure for moving the arms. The screw means are operated by a screwed sleeve 19. The bowl has a rim entering a channel 11 on the canopy where it is held against a sealing strip 12. More than one supporting device may be used.
