Abstract
1,139,584. Alkali metal terephthalates. NIPPON SODA K.K. 18 Jan.. 1966 [18 Jan., 1965; 3 Aug.. 1965], No. 2273/66. Heading C2C. An alkali metal terephthalate is obtained by heating at a temperature of from 350‹ to 450‹ C. and in an inert atmosphere spherical, crystalline and substantially anhydrous granules and/or lumps containing an alkali metal benzene mono- or dicarboxylate having a mean diameter of from 2 to 50 mm., Shore hardness of 80 or more and a density of 1À45 or more. Examples are given for the production of the alkali metal terephthalate. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 744,721, 747,204, 762,644, 777,497, 777,609 and 868,338.
