Abstract

113,944. Staaff, C. Dec. 3, 1917. Fixing by separate socket pieces with set-screw and bolt securing-devices.-The end of the handle 10 is provided with a socket-piece or ferrule 12 having a thickened end 13 with an axial hole for the insertion of the tang 15 of a garden tool, &c. The inner end of the tang 15 has a hole for the passage of a screw 16 which passes through the ferrule and handle, whereby the removal of the tool is prevented. A set-screw 18 in the thickened end 13 of the ferrule is provided for fixing the tang firmly and preventing lateral play or rattling.
