Abstract

1,138,740. Yeast. DISTILLERS CO. (YEAST) Ltd. Dec.19, 1967 [Dec.21, 1966], No.57302/66. Heading C6F. A new strain of baker's yeast is Saccharomyces cerevisiae GB 2984 (number 694 in the National Collection of Yeast Cultures) whose characteristics are described. The yeast may be cultivated in a liquid medium including molasses, diammonium phosphate and ammonia, and an active dried yeast containing 6 - 7À4% of nitrogen, 1À7 - 2À3% of phosphate and a small proportion of moisture (5 - 12%) produced.
