Abstract
1,137,720. Builder motions. ZINSER TEXTILMASCHINEN G.m.b.H. 2 Nov., 1965 [9 Dec., 1964], No. 46354/65. Heading DID. In a builder motion wherein the reversal of the motion of the traversed member 104 is initiated by an element 105 therein passing reversing control elements 100, 101 (e.g. in the form of photo-electric switches), control signals are 'generated at time intervals of A/v (where A is a constant or programmed parameter and v is the speed of the means delivering yarn to be wound) and the position of at least one of the control elements 100, 101 is adjusted in response to each signal by an adjusting member e.g. a threaded rod 103 through a pre-determined path increment. As shown the threaded shafts 103 are rotated by a pawl and ratchet device 111, 112 which is intermittently actuated by a solenoid 109 operated by the control signals. The control signals are generated by the device of Fig. 8 not shown the motor thereof being synchronised with the motor driving the yarn delivery device so that the 1/v factor of the above equation is provided. It may be arranged that the solenoid 109 performs a number of stepping movements as a result of each control signal. A programming device may be associated with the pulse generator so as to vary the time intervals between the control signals during the build and thus produce packages of various shapes. Solenoid 109 may be replaced by a servomotor (140) Figs. 4 and 5 not shown to rotate the threaded rods carrying the reversing control elements. In Fig. 2 the gearing 108a causes the elements 100, 101 to be driven in opposite directions whereas in Fig. 4 the gearing is such that the elements move in the same direction; thus a variety of package types can be produced. In Fig. 4 the control element 100, 101 can be driven in reverse and at high speed to return them to their initial positions upon completion of a wind. The rotor (140) driving the control elements 100, 101 may operate an impulse generator the pulses of which are counted and the restoring of the traverse device can be initiated when the counted pulses reaches a predetermined number. In the embodiment of Figs. 6 and 7a not shown the threaded rods driving the reversing control element are driven by independent servo-motors activated by separate impulse generators. One of the control elements (100) may alternately operate sensing devices (180, 181) which devices cause reversal of the drive of the associated servo-motor (140a) and cause the control element to traverse between set limits. Thus windings such as in Figs. 16, 17, not shown, can be obtained. The other control element may also be arranged to be reciprocated and packages of the type illustrated in Fig. 18, not shown, obtained.
