A clamp for locating a setting jack on a prop or mine arch 1 of H-section consists of a yoke 13 in which is mounted a spindle 16 carrying a rotatable cam 15 and a pair of relatively adjustable claws 20. the stem 8 of the yoke being bored to receive a spigot of the jack, see Fig. 1, (not shown).
