Doughy material, e.g. potato mix, is extruded by means of a piston 5 through a multi-orificed die plate 3 held in position by the inturned rim 2 of cylinder 1 and a ring 4. Such an arrangement allows the changing of plate 3 without emptying cylinder 1. Ring 4 is connected by means of rods to a plate situated above the open end of cylinder 1. This plate also guides pistonrod 6. Neither this plate nor the rods are shown.
