Abstract

1,135,324. Feeding magnetic record tapes. BSR Ltd. 1 Sept., 1967 [11 June, 1966], No. 26107/66. Heading G5R. A cassette-type tape player, wherein the cassette 12, Fig. 1, is movable between an operative position in which the tape 11 passing over a pinch roller 16 mounted within the cassette is resiliently urged into contact with a capstan spindle 15 and an inoperative position in which the tape is spaced from the capstan spindle, includes transporter means driven from the capstan to move the cassette. As shown, a slide 44, Fig. 2, may be moved manually to bring either of two rubber pulleys 52, 53 into engagement with the capstan spindle 15 and with a corresponding one of two flanges 42, 43 depending from a slide 36 which is thereby driven in one or other direction, carrying with it a pin 32 secured to a latching lever 25, Fig. 1, which resiliently engages the cassette 11. A toggle spring 54 urges the slide 36 towards either extreme position, where it is disengaged from the capstan drive.
