Abstract
1,135,153. Electron microscope systems. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 12 May, 1967 [17 May, 1966], No. 22097/67. Heading H4F. [Also in Division H1] An electron microscope has a luminescent screen 21 provided on one end of an optical fibre bundle 26 to receive the beam 12 of image forming electrons, the luminescent screen being optically coupled by means of the optical fibre bundle, with the target plate 28 of a TV pickup tube consisting substantially of photoconductive lead monoxide and arranged, with the interposition of a transparent signal electrode 27, on an optical fibre bundle constituting the window of the pick-up tube. In Fig. 3 (not shown) an adjustable flexible optical fibre bundle extends to the exterior of the microscope to be in optical contact with a plate-shaped optical fibre bundle constituting the window of a TV pick-up tube.
