A display system comprises a plurality of multi-cathode tubes A1-Am, the corresponding cathodes being connected together in groups, one of the tubes being selected by switches E1-Em and one of the groups by switches D1-Dm. Switches E1-Em are operated sequentially by counter U and numbers are read out synchronously from a computer output circuit R, recoded at M and applied to operate the switches D1-Dm. The digits of successive denominations may therefore be sequentially displayed in the proper denominational positions.
