[Also in Division C3] Cellulose films are coated with solutions of a copolymer obtained from (a) vinylidene chloride, (b) acrylonitrile, an alkyl acrylate or methacrylate, or vinyl chloride, (c) acrylic and/ or methacrylic acid and (d) maleic anhydride. In an example a regenerated cellulose film having a keying coating of an aminoplast resin is coated by immersion in a solution of such a copolymer containing 90.2% vinylidene chloride, 8.8% acrylonitrile, 1% methacrylic acid and traces of maleic anhydride.
