Abstract
1,131,638. Printing processes. STACY MACHINE CO. Inc. 29 Dec., 1965, [12 Jan., 1965], No. 55098/65. Heading B6C. A process for producing a copy of an original design comprises the steps of (a) forming a moisture film on a support means; (b) contacting the film with the design to be copied; (c) removing the design from the support means whereby without the application of heat or other energy other than the pressure of contact a latent image is produced on the support means; (d) developing, preferably with a particulate toner, the latent image of step (c) and, (e) transferring the developed image to a copy material. In a modified process the moisture film is formed in step (a) on the design to be copied prior to contacting the now moistened design with the support means.
