Abstract

1,130,126. Mechanical interrupters. MALLORY TIMERS Ltd. 14 Feb., 1967 [14 Feb., 1966], No. 6950/67. Heading H1N. The rate of advance of a cam spindle 26 driven by a ratchet-and-pawl mechanism 37, 42 is variable. An arm 32 carrying the pawl 37 is moved outwardly against a spring 30 by a fourlobe cam 17 on a motor-driven spindle 16. The arm is restrained from returning, when released by the cam, by a spring-loaded plunger 29 which is retracted at desired intervals by a solenoid (43). The latter is controlled by selected contacts 19, 20 or 21 actuated by projections 22, 23, 24, (33) of different radial lengths on a gearwheel 15 on spindle 16. The solenoid may thus be energized once, twice or four times per revolution and hence the cam-shaft 26 is advanced once, twice or four times per revolution of spindle 16.
