A board game comprises a hinged board, and a number of pieces operated by the players, one acting as a quarry and the others as hunters. In one embodiment, the game comprises two flat boards 1, 2 each having one side coloured and marked in order to represent an area of sea containing seven islands; the boards are each pierced by a matrix of holes 3 with an unpierced border on all sides: the four edges of the boards are flanged to the rear; the boards are placed one behind the other. both facing the same way with the matrices of holes in register, both boards being in parallel and inclined at about 20‹ to the vertical; the front board 1 is supported by a base board 5 and hinge arms 6 are attached to both side flanges of both boards, a removable hinge pin 7 being provided to enable the rear board to be swung away from the front boardhingeing from either side. A piece of cloth the same overall size as the beards is loosely draped over the rear of the front board 1, being fixed to the edges of the flanges at 8. A piece of stiff card 9 is fixed to the flanges at the rear of the rear board 2. Other parts used in the game comprise a transparent disc 10, differently coloured pairs of pegs 11, a set of weather cards indicating the wind direction and its force, a set of clue cards and a series of 'course setters' of different sizes, each course setter consisting of a loop 16 fixed to a pin capable of fitting into a hole 17 in a respective peg 11 which serves to support the course setter on the board.
