1,129,539. Reshaping glass sheets. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. 1 Aug., 1966 [30 Aug., 1965], No. 34491/66. Heading C1M. [Also in Division G2] A complex one-piece optical lens is formed by sagging a transparent thermoplastic sheet 1 of uniform thickness on to an optical surface 7 of a mould 3 having a desired configuration to provide the upper surface of the sheet 1 with the same configuration, flattening by grinding the lower surface of the sheet, and subsequently sagging the sheet on to an optical surface 13 of a second mould 11 having a second desired configuration to add to the upper surface of the sheet 1 the configuration of the second mould, and finally, flattening by grinding the lower surface of the sheet 1 again.
