Abstract

1,129,055. Treating sewage. SOUTH AFRICAN INVENTIONS DEVELOPMENT CORP. 7 Feb., 1967, No. 5674/67. Heading C1C. In an activated sludge process the wastes are admitted to a plant containing at least two endless channels extending alongside one another with a vertical aerating disc mounted for rotation in at least one of the channels, and a sedimentation vessel in series with the channels for receiving the total flow from at least one of the channels and for returning at least a portion of settled sludge to the channels. The connection if desired of two or more channels gives greater flexibility in treating sewage.
