Abstract
1,127,908. Coin freed vending machines. SEITZ-AUTOMATEN G.m.b.H. 30 Dec., 1965 [12 Feb., 1964], No. 55193/65. Heading G4V. A coin-freed vending machine has a plurality of drawers, opening of any one of which causes a stop to engage across a coin shoot 26 at 29, 30 or 38 according to the price associated with the drawer in question, and a locking device including a shaft 21 rotated when any drawer is pulled and supporting a pawl 31, 32 having a first position (as shown) in which it will engage a stop 37 to prevent further opening of the drawer, and being movable to a second position clearing stop 37 only if the coin shoot is filled with coins between a camming pin 36 on the pawl and the operative stop at 29, 30 or 38. The uppermost stop at 38 is always engaged on pulling of a drawer, and lower stops at 29 or 30 are pre-selected for each drawer by engaging a selected cam-slot in the drawer base with a corresponding sliding linkage. Pressing button 47 tilts the coin shoot about pivot 44 so that inserted coins roll down return shoot 45. When a drawer is opened, rotation of shaft 21 removes support 35 from beneath the coins, which fall to a box, and pawl 31, 32 rotates bell-crank 53, 54, to remove the coin shoot pivoting linkage from alignment with button 47, to prevent coinreturn.
