Abstract
1,125,026. Automatic gramophones. V.M. CORP. 14 Sept., 1966 [20 Oct., 1965], No. 41141/66. Heading G5R. Fingers 24 in a record changer spindle controllably lower the bottom one of a stack of records R to the turntable 36 while gripping members 28 hold the remaining records on the spindle. As shown, the fingers 24 move in vertical slots 26 in the spindle 22 which is secured by a framework 44 and support 47 under the turntable whose bearing 40 encircles a tube 34 surrounding the actuating mechanism. The fingers 24 are pivoted on a metal 0-ring 68 (Fig. 3) located in a recess 70 in a carrier 48 and are urged outwards by a spring-biased tube 60 engaging shoulders 64 on tne fingers. The carrier 48 is movable vertically by means of a peg 74 passing through a vertical slot 76 in the spindle and entering a helical cam slot 72 in a tube 30 (Fig. 1) rotatable about the spindle via teeth 78. A cam 94 for moving resilient record gripping members 28 outwards of the spindle is moved vertically via a rod 92 upon rotation of a tubular cam member 32 having an inner helical thread 102 engaging a thread 100 on a follower member 98 to which the rod 92 is resiliently secured by a tube 108, spring 112 and clip 113, the follower thread 100 being divided into three circumferential portions which extend through vertical slots 104 in the spindle. Transverse pins 114, 115 secure the support 47 to the spindle and to the frame 119.
