Abstract

Cyclohexylamine N-cyclohexylsulphamate contaminated with cyclohexylamine sulphate and cyclohexylamine is purified by slurrying the mixture in y parts of water and removing the liquid phase from the solid phase, where y is equal to (A + B)z, where z is a number the value of which lies between 15/x and 25/x, where x is the percentage of cyclohexylamine in the initial composition and where A + B represents the combined amounts of cyclohexylamine sulphate and cyclohexylamine N-cyclohexylsulphamate. Suitably the mixture is slurried at room temperature for at least fifteen minutes and the solid phase is separated by filtration or by centrifuging and the initial mixture contains at least 10% by weight of free cyclohexylamine.
