Abstract

Novel (5,5 - dimethyl - cyclohexane - 1,3-dione - 2 - yl) - 3 - methyl - 4 - hydroxy-coumarin or its corresponding enol is prepared by reacting a Mannich base of either 4-hydroxy coumarin or 5,5 - dimethyl - cyclohexane - 1,3 - dione with the second of the said compounds. A therapeutic composition, useful as a thrombinemia reducing agent, contains the above novel compound as the active ingredient. It is administered in the form of tablets.
