Abstract
1,120,904. Toy aircraft. LOUIS MARX & CO. Ltd. 25 Aug., 1966 [18 March, 1966], No. 38213/66. Heading B7W. A toy helicopter comprises rotor-blades 22a, 22b that are driven through gearing 52, 54 by a motor 16 and carry electric lamps 24a, 24b in sockets 26a, 26b adjacent their radially-outermost ends, the lamps being connected in parallel to an electric cell (30), Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), which is lodged in a cylindrical casing 32 attached to the hub. of the rotor-blades. It is stated that the lamps are entertaining to the operator of the toy and may be of different colours so that when the rotor-blades rotate circles of different hue are described. The rotor-blades are set obliquely to render them capable of effecting lift and may be made of a plastics material. Wires (36) connecting the lamps to the cell (30) are housed in a longitudinal slot within each rotor-blade, a rotatable cap or cover 34 for the casing 32 being provided with electrical contacts (44, 46) whereby it serves as a switch for the lamps.
