Abstract
1,120,841. Travelling cases. SINCLAIR OWEN & CO. Ltd. 12 April, 1966 [22 June, 1965], No. 26270/65. Heading B8P. A travelling case formed by two hingedly connected trays 10, 11 deep-drawn from thermoplastics sheet has a rim strip 12 extending externally of one of the trays to receive the rim of the other. In the form illustrated a rim strip 20 is also applied to the other tray, and both rim strips are riveted in place. The rim strip 12 may be cut away at 18 to facilitate bending. Locks, a handle, and resting studs are fitted, and a lining 28 is secured adhesively. The strips may be resilient or include a resilient portion to provide a water-tight joint. The outer surface of the case may be provided with patterning applied to the thermoplastics sheet before moulding.
