Abstract

A resilient cellular plastics material is impregnated with a liquid composition comprising a paraffin chloride and trichlorethylene at a temperature of 60 DEG C and the trichlorethylene evaporated. The composition may also contain antimony trioxide. Impregnation may be effected in vacuo. The material may be dried and degassed before impregnation. The plastics material may be of natural or synthetic rubber.
