The plastics bottle crate described in Specification 1,084,191, is modified in that recesses are made in the external horizontal ribs into which perpendicular ribs engage when similar crates 8 are placed with sides abutting but with their horizontal ribs not directly facing each other, e.g. as in Fig. 3.
