Alpha - (fluoromethyl) - styrene may be polymerized to high molecular weight products.ALSO:The invention comprises alpha-(fluoromethyl)-styrene and a process for making it by reacting the corresponding chloro- or bromo-methyl compound with AgF, KF, HgF2, SbF3 or SbF5.
